This pump has a ceramic shaft that provides for quiet yet smooth running. Moreover, the ceramic shaft guarantees for durability.
Due to its outstanding construction, this pump can be used both horizontally and vertically. An integrated flow monitor ensures a variable flow of water.
Because of these features, the pond pump is versatilely applicable as for example:
Stream pump / Pond pump / Fountain pump / Filter pump:
To prevent an overflow of the pond filter in conjunction with this powerful pond pump, it is advisable to use a Y-adapter. Being used as a by-pass, a water course can be additionally supplied or the capacity be allocated to another UV-C clarifier or pond filter.
It is necessary to adjust the delivery capacity of the pump to the size of the pond filter. If the delivery capacity is too high, this may lead to an overflow of the filter which should be avoided in any case. Moreover, you should take into consideration the cycle of circulation as well as the time the water remains inside the pond filter
As the case may be, the perfect cycle of circulation depends on various factors such as: fish stocking, aquatic plants, sunlight, desired water clarity. Of course, there are other components of the filter circulation that have to be coordinated.
There are the following guidelines:
Koi pond / fish pond:
• 1 cycle in every 3 hours
• 2 circulations in 1 hour (without plants and large fish stocking)
Garden pond / Pond with plants:
In a pond without fish there is less circulation necessary. Here, 1 circulation per day can be considered a a guideline. This is to enrich the pond water with oxygen and to keep it in motion.
Swimming pond:
Here, the circulation cycle is highly dependent on the plants and claim. There is an upper limit of 1 x in every 2-3 hours, the lower limit with no "circulation".
Cleaning:
In order to guarantee the impeccable running of the pond pumps, it is necessary to clean them regularly.
SunSun has constructed the casing in a way that pulling out of the water is facilitated by a handle. The casing itself can be opened without using any tools - no screws.
