This high performance filter material from SunSun is especially designed for the CSF-500 pond filter. The small filter elements each have a diameter of 1.7 cm as well as a height of 1 cm and therefore provide an especially large surface for various bacteria to settle on. Due to the filter medium’s size it is not only ideal for pond filters but also for aquarium filters. A part of the bacteria that settles on the filter material also supports the nitrification cycle. The construction of the filter material provides an ideally protected and big surface for the bacteria, which enhances the effectiveness of the filter process.

We recommend the filter material to be used in the last filtering step, as it is especially effective when it comes to breaking down ammonium and nitrite in the water. It can be efficiently used as biological material and cleansing is not required due to the constant movement.
